Exceeded my data usage last month! :O

8 Apr

Saw this in my bill:
NOoo..!! ($6.22 + gst gone just like that! *Sob sob!*)

Had switched off my data immediately after checking mySingtel app and saw that my usage was 11.98gb!!

But alas, the customer service guy told me that the app is not updated immediately. Data reflected is as of 1 hour ago! :(

Anyway, he told me that we can also dial *3282 to get the immediate update for amount of data used.

Well, now we know! Hope I won’t exceed my usage again!!

Revamping My Wardrobe!!

16 Feb

Yes.. This used to be my “wardrobe”..
Designed by my mum.. Very creative hor? Well, it’s not exactly pretty but it did serve the function.. Doubled up as my “curtains” too! LOL!

But still, noooooo.. I need a proper wardrobe!!

Ordered a DIY wardrobe and it was finally delivered! Wanted to wait until the weekends but opps, I couldn’t wait! Heehee! (Set it up on 12 Feb already!)

Woohoo! So excited to start fixing it! But before that, I needed to make some space for my new wardrobe!

After some time..
Alrite! Time to start DIY-ing!
Honestly I was really a bit worried when I opened the parcel and saw these!

Couldn’t help wondering..
– Can I do it??
– Will it be sturdy enough to hold my clothes??

Decided to stop thinking and start trying!

Technically speaking, the base should be the easiest to set up. But it got easier and easier as I got the gist of it!

Without realizing it, I got to this stage with ease! Woohoo!
Finally it’s completed! Hanged some of my clothes inside..
..Perfect! Surprisingly it’s quite sturdy! ♥

Can zip up too! (It feels extra amazing since I DIY-ed it single-handedly!)
Well, the cloth is thinner than I expected but okay lah.. Considering I only paid $30+ for the whole thing. And the base colour was light yellow. From the photo, I thought it was cream or white.

Surprisingly it only took me a couple of hours to compete the setup. (In fact, I went to have my dinner in the midst of it!) Felt such a huge sense of accomplishment! ♥

After fixing up my DIY wardrobe, I was paranoid for a couple of days. Kinda expecting to go back to my room and find it falling apart.. Haha! So far it’s still going strong! Hope it can lasts a few years at least!

Overall I’m quite happy with it. ♥ Even my mum feels like buying one because it’s so cheap and big!

Having a new, spacious wardrobe is really a huge step towards tidying up my room.. But unfortunately, I (still) have too many clothes! After getting my new wardrobe, I’ve gave away another bag of clothes but there are still too many clothes all over my room! Ahhh…!! I think I still need to give away at least half of my remaining clothes!

Kinda reluctant to part with my clothes (even though I rarely / never wear most of them.. opps).. But what’s the point of keeping clothes just to admire and only thinking of wearing them “someday”? Perhaps if I don’t feel like wearing the clothes “now”, it’s a sign that I should give them away!

Wish me luck ya! ♥

Multi Tasking

11 Feb

I was trying to do everything all at once but I ended up being unproductive. And while trying to find my stuff, I kept getting distracted by the random stuff I found! Opps! Heehee! Then I found Item A and put it aside to look for Item B. Finally found Item B, only to realised that I had misplaced Item A.. Even put my laptop on top of my Chopard watch without realising it! :O

Sounds familiar? Haha!

Sitting down now and trying to calm down. Don’t be overwhelmed.. Relax~~

Now let me list out the things I want to do in no particular order of importance.

1. Clean my Chopard watch leather strap.

2. Find my unopened contact lenses, opened the seal and soak the lenses in fresh cleaning solution so that I can wear them tomorrow. – Done

3. Pack the things I want to bring to work: Camera, tripod stand

4. Charge my camera

5. Tidy up my bed. – Done!

Alrite, things seem to be simpler now. Off to do them ONE BY ONE now! Gonna be more productive this time.. Tata! :)

Goodbye memories..

28 Jan

Well, I ended up keeping these stuff until now.

Some of the items, for eg the box, was given to me 10+ years ago.

Wow, I know. >.<

Somehow WordPress went crazy and the rest of the stuff I wrote went missing. Oh well. I’ve already ranted so there’s no need for me to retype and relive those bitter moments again.

The past is over. And I hope they enjoy their happy moments while they can (or are they even happy now?).. Because Karma will eventually ask them to repay their debts.

I just gotta move on, let go of the past and be happy. :)

Sometimes people are silly. Like me. They choose to keep items that remind them of the sad past. They hold on to the sad past.

For what?

Just let it go.

For a while, we will still remember the sad past even without reminders. But eventually.. We will forget, move on and be happy again.

Why let ourselves be reminded of something unpleasant? Why stay bitter and miss out on all the happy moments that we could be having?

Are there anything that’s stopping you from smiling again? Dump them for good! :)

Organising My Clothes..!

27 Jan

Despite throwing out A LOT of clothes which I rarely (or even, never) wear.. I still have too much!! Tiring nia.. But at least my room is SLIGHTLY not-so-horrible.. Haha!

Been searching for more info on wardrobes that can be easily fixed on my own.

Something like this!
Wondering if I should get the bigger one..
My room is quite small, so I’m worried the bigger design may not be suitable. But if I get the smaller one, I’m not sure if it’s enough to fit all my clothes!

Oh man.. Why the heck do I have sooo many clothes!!?

Was wondering if this type of wardrobe can support the weight of my clothes so I tried searching for related videos in Youtube. So worried that the wardrobe may collapse after a while!

And I chanced upon this! Whoa!

Looks like I have a lot of things to learn!

Wish me luck! Hope I can make my room tidy.. Eh, by end of this year? Too many stuff!!

Using the Internet Responsibly: Commenting Online

14 Jan

Hi all! I’m back from Taiwan! Miao Li is such a wonderful place! (Yes, I haven’t even finish blogging about my Batam trip!! Will do so before CNY, I hope!)

Just a quick sharing on my interesting encounter online recently~

Because of Kit Chan, I went to Youtube to watch videos on 我是歌手3 (I Am A Singer 3).

I must admit that part of me was curious to see the responses. *Troll alert* Opps! For that, I’m sorry but.. Nonetheless, I decided to comment something which I would have normally just keep it in my mind. It’s seriously quite mild. No vulgarities (lol!), no malicious insult.. (Just wondered why the screenshot showed this singer but when I clicked on the video, it showed another China singer instead. Especially since it’s uploaded by the official organization.. Should have corrected this right?)

Disclaimer: I rarely post negative comments to annoy people. (Although I didn’t think the one I did for experiment was that bad.)

Interestingly I got quite a lot of scoldings and ‘suanings’ (aka sarcastic remarks). But they are mostly in Mandarin so I didn’t really take the time to read everything.

One of the things that amused me was that some of them seemed more angry because I wrote the comment in English. Another one said something like I was pretentious and want to show off my English..?? Because according to one of them, people who really knows English do not watch Mandarin videos. Eh okay.. Haha! That’s interesting to hear.. I mean, read.

Anyway, to look on the positive side, it’s nice to see people standing up for their fellow countrymen. Unity is strength! :)

(But that’s also prolly why Kit Chan was the first to be out even though I think her performance was great. Nevermind, I still love her! ♥)

Nonetheless, I learnt some interesting lessons from this incident:

1. Remarks that seem harmless to you may be offensive to others.
2. Angry people don’t talk sense at times so don’t take it to heart.
3. Others’ words can’t hurt you if you don’t accept them.
4. There’s no need to argue or have the last word.
5. Lashing out at others does not resolve the problems / make others understand their mistakes. (Actually all they need to do is to calmly point out my mistake and I’ll gladly say, “Oh I see. You are right and I am sorry for my previous comment.”)

Thanks for the lessons learnt and I’m sorry if any of them feel extremely agitated for my (experimental) comment.

(Thank God I’m not a celebrity.. Can’t imagine how much emotional stress celebrities had to endure when they unknowingly offend the public. Let’s be kinder to them!)

Seriously I wonder if people nowadays are getting increasingly abusive verbally nowadays?

Verbal abuse is no better than physical abuse. How many people have committed suicide or thought of doing so because they had been verbally abused constantly?

Technology is supposed to make our lives better.. But sadly, many people abused this “power”. They hide behind their computer (or smartphones) and hurl insults to people online. People they don’t even know.

I think about this whenever I want to post a comment online or blog: What do I want to do with this “power”? To change people’s lives for the better.. Or worse?

But well, I’m still human (a sensitive one, in fact!) so sometimes I do write stuff online to rant out my frustrations.. >.<

Suggestions for everyone (and MYSELF!)..

If you feel like writing something negative about someone, please think first:

1. Is it constructive?
2. Does it help the person to improve?
3. Do you sound angry and irrational?
4. Is there a better way to convey your thoughts?
5. Should you go ahead and post your comments?

If you come across some nasty comments about you..

1. Reflect on your words / actions which trigger the response.
2. Ask yourself: Is there anything I can learn from the words? Or are those just plain, worthless insulting words?
3. Don’t take it negatively. (And just ignore the useless hate comments.)
4. Leave the webpage or delete the comments if you can’t stop yourself from getting upset.

Hope whoever reads this benefit as much as I do!

Have a nice day and..
Because Love makes the world go world! ♥ (Powerpuff Girls say so!)

Last day of 2014

31 Dec

How fast time flies! 2014 is almost over already!! Gosh!! Time seems to pass faster and faster as we grow older and older.. Isn’t it?

Some of my reflections for 2014..

Regaining Back My Former 49kg (Weight)

Was looking through my old thumbdrive and found this photo!

Me back in 2012!
Merely 3 years had passed since then and I’ve already lost my figure! Or should I say, gain more fats??!

Weight shot up from 49kg to 56kg with a few months after I hit the big 3.. Even though I didn’t change my diet and activity level!

Fortunately, I was working in FHI by then so this was discovered early.. Before my weight issue became a weigh PROBLEM.

Weight went down to 54kg.. Then fluctuating between 50kg to 52kg.

Last month I weighed myself and my results was SO GOOD.
Weight: 51.1kg
Body Fats: 29.6%

Couldn’t believe my eyes! WOW!
But alas.. Just went to weigh and my body weight and body fats % went up AGAIN! Darn.. I gotta admit, I’ve been eating more and exercising lesser these days! No need to wait until 1 Jan 2015, I ought to start exercising more from TODAY onwards! (I guess doing Kpopx Fitness once a month only is not enough!!)

Nooo..! Gotta buck up in 2015! Hope to regain my former weight of 49kg by the end of 2015!!

But okay lah.. Must encourage myself! Haha! So.. Nice try in 2014! Continue to work hard in 2015! I can do it!! ;)

Cholesterol Levels Improved Significantly!

A picture says a thousand words so here goes!
All I did was to add a bit of vegetables in my diet. I didn’t even eat a lot of vegetables. Only added them in when I cook my lunch during weekdays! Plus I increased my activity levels (a bit only too).

An accomplishment made possible by all the positive influences in FHI (Yong, Jenny, Phern to be specific)! THANK YOU!!

Looking Better!

Went through my old photos and noticed that I used to look a lot more uglier in the past! So glad that I’m *ahems* prettier now!

Then again.. Maybe I’m just simply better in taking selfies now.. Haha!

Special thanks to my awesome camera!
(My best purchase in 2014.. Lol! ♡)

Some older photos of me to show the comparison.. >.< Eh.. 谁没有过去啊! (Who doesn’t have a past!) Haha!

Seriously it’s so embarrassing..!! To think I used to think these photos were good! Omg, how blinded can one get!!

Of course, I’m not gonna post my older (AND uglier) photos here to illustrate my point. Heh! (Seriously I looked so different now.. Won’t be surprised if people start wondering if I had any plastic surgery before lor!)

I guess when one is healthier physically and mentally, one will automatically look better! Don’t look as tired as I used to be. Plus I think I smile a lot more nowadays.. Especially after removing my braces! :)

Miscellaneous Issues

This year had been quite fulfilling for me. Quite a lot of problems surfaced too.. Actually some of the problems had been there for YEARS but went unnoticed by me previously. By now, most of them had been resolved. I’m so thankful! Lesson learnt! Shall not be too ‘bochup’ (cannot be bothered) in future!

My Lovely New Room

In this year, I got my new room.. Finally!

The Big Day which I got my own room! image
Cookie seems to love my new room too!
How I love seeing this lovely sight!
With my very own room..

Can finally use these!
(Can you believe it? I actually bought the burner at least 10 years ago but I never had the chance to use it!)

Can put my plushies nicely!
Can sing.. Lol!
Can read!
Can do my homework and study..
Can let my loved ones play in my room!
Just lying in my own bed (a real one, not mattress!) brings me great joy and bliss. I’m very thankful already! ♡

Still in the midst of clearing out my (extra / spoilt / not in use) stuff to create the dream look for my room! Already thrown out many stuff..

For example, TV & the cabinet!
..but my room is still overflowing with stuff! Gonna throw out more things! :)

Hopefully with my own room, I can think about how to improve my life and myself.. And go ahead to MAKE IT HAPPEN! ♡

Another significant thing that happened in 2014.. I learnt to cycle!! It has been my dream since I was just a small kid! Not an expert in it yet but at least I can cycle a tiny weeny bit! Yeah!

(Taken on The Day I cycled all the way from the other end! ☆)

In 2015, I hope to cycle more often in Bishan Park! And hope to improve, of course!
